Circa: 1938 Country of Origin: United States Manufacturer: Syroco Syracuse Ornamental Company
This very nice Yellowstone National Park souvenir smoking set is made of a carved wood composition material, produced by Syroco (Syracuse Ornamental Company) in the late 1930s. It's a covered cigarette box with attached twin ashtrays, 10-1/4 inches long by 4-1/2 inches wide. The lid has a nicely carved bear in the forest relief scene with green painted pine trees with Yellowstone National Park printed in the left lower corner. The sides have decorative carved tree ring and bark designs. Both of the original glass ashtray inserts are present with no damage (these are more often than not missing).
The smoking set has one small nick to the rim of the center box, which is covered by the lid. There's no other damage aside from some mild finish wear around the bottom edges. The original foil label on the bottom is no longer present, but I guarantee it's an authentic Syroco piece.
