Victorian child's rattle. hallmarked for Birmingham 1899. Mother of pearl pacifier handle, two bells, and a whistle end. Pretty pattern embossed into the sterling silver. Maker's mark is "H & ... " the second part is rubbed. Rattle measures 10 cm long (4 inches). It has some very minor dents, but overall is in very good condition. There is also a suspension ring attached, probably so it could be hung over a bassinet.
