This is a top quality smooth plane with extra nice finishing features. All the hardware is in great shape, no rust, including the screws, cap cover, cutter, and cutter cover plate. Over 95% of the original paint is intact, red on the frog and black on the plane inside sole area. The handle and knob are lacquered rosewood, no cracks, a few minor scratches and small dings, some worn off clear finish noted. There is no casting cracks, light wear, over 90% cutter stock intact, sharp cutter.  The cutter is 1.75" wide, and the footprint is 9.5" long.  The cutter is also marked "CRAFTSMAN MADE IN U.S.A.". Craftsman smooth planes were sold retail by Sears & Roebuck, this model I believe was made by Millers Falls Co..   A very nice quality plane for display or for use, ready to work!
