Lovely antique Victorian glass biscuit jar. c:1883. English. Well hallmarked on both lid and rim. 'D&A EPNS H 5799'. EPNS = electroplated nickel silver, aka, silver plate. It glows yellow under a UV light. This item is in good overall 'antique' condition; bottom rim is quite worn and smooth. It stands about 6.75 tall; 4 wide across top rim. It is crystal or cut glass. Once used for tea biscuits, crackers and scones. The pattern consists of diamonds and round concave dots. A gorgeous jar to grace your dining room breakfront!
