Great Expectations Antiques

Circa: early 1900's
Condition: Good++
Manufacturer: HENRY DISSTON & SONS PHILADELPHIA
Offering this nice clean, hard to find Disston model, rip hand-saw with the nib on the top of blade in good condition. It is 99% straight and clean with darkened  and stained from light to dark 28" long blade, the entire saw is 32" long overall. The medallion is marked  "*DISSTON & SONS *PHILADA." which is from the early 1900's era. The blade has some darkening, but is not rusty, and minor pitting only in small areas noted, good teeth, sharp, ready to use. This saw has been used since it was sharpened last, still sharp but could use a light sharpening.  The teeth are also set correctly. There is pitting on less than 10% of the total surface area, none is effecting the teeth or cutting. The handle is nice, with a few wood grain slight separations and small dings and scratches note, but solid, nice hardware, good brass medallion. A nice well cared for, quality used hand-saw!  One of the straightest we have seen! There is no sign of the blade etch, we decided on D-7 do to the Disston medallion and the design and shape of the handle.
