More Than McCoy

Manufacturer: England
Vintage Made in England lusterware vase with silverplate rim. The rim has 4 hallmarks and the name 'Amur' in script which is the company who made the silverplate. As for the luster finish vase itself, the bottom blue backstamp is very worn and hard to read. All that I can make out is Made in England, above what I think is a small crown symbol which is above a shield symbol. There is an Ltd. that I can make out and a name but I it is too faded to make that out. There is also an impressed number that looks like #199, but not positive. The vase has no chips or cracks; does have some age and wear on the surfaces. It features a beach, ocean, boats, docks, fishermen and women milling about. I think this is a rare piece. I ried to find anything like it on the net and nothing comes up. Many lusterware pitchers come up; but no vases with silverplate. The closest backstamp in Kovel's to this one that I could find is a Myott backstamp, mark J, on pg. 115. This vase has an unusual luster color; I first thought this had to be Japanese, but it is English. It stands 4 inches tall x almost 7 wide across top rim or 8.5 total width, end to end. It is not porcelain, it might be earthenware. It also has 3 stilt marks on the bottom. Enlarge the images for a better view. The vase is not crooked; I just had to take the photo on an angle to avoid some of the glare from the luster and silverplate. It is a very unique vase for your English lusterware collection! Reasonable offers considered. 3/15
