This 1849 lithograph features the portrait of Predsident Thomas Jefferson. It is from The Statesman's Manual. The Addresses and Messages of the Presidents of the United States which was published in 4 volumes by Edward Walker, New York. This print is from volume II, Engraving by V. Balch from the original painting by G. Stuart. Print is on 19th Century heavy white woven paper with some discoloration around the outer edges with a few light stains. This print measures approx. 5 1/2" x 9" and is in Very Good condition. Sold Unmatted.

A note on the source: Edwin Williams, an author, was born in Norwich, Connecticut on March 7, 1797; he died in New York city on October 21, 1854. His father, Joseph, was extensively engaged as a shipping and importing merchant, and was a general of Connecticut militia. The son removed to New York, was for many years secretary of the American institute, and actively connected with the historical, geographical, and statistical societies. He contributed constantly to periodicals, published "The New York Annual Register" in 1830-'45, and was the author of The Politician's Manual, New Universal Gazetteer, Book of the Constitution, The Statesman's Manual and many more.
