Pre Civil War multiple generations Human Hair memento mori family tree dated 1853.
Set behind thick wavy hand blown glass on a richly patinated shadowbox wood frame are finely woven and expertly braided hair remembrances from, Levi Herendeen, Edwin L. Herendeen, Nancy Herendeen, Ligman Herendeen, George W. Herendeen, Nancy H Herendeen, George L Herendeen, Edgar K Smith, Wilmarth Smith, Taloma Smith, Anna H Lapham, Eunice Eddy among others. An ancient embossed partial seal, possibly of the deceased, can be seen in the corner. Superb folk art death and genealogy social study.
