Mors Mors is an exclamation that originated in Hamburg it actually is no greeting at all. Rather used as battle-cry of Hamburger locals the exclamation was introduced in 1854 by water carrier Johann Wilhelm Bentz who was known under the nickname of Hummel and counts today to the best known persons of Hamburg. This figurine is to commemorate Johann Bentz.

This figurine measures height 4 1/2 inch X base 2 7/8 inch X 1 inch. It has Goebel Germany stamped on the bottom in blue and also LD 58 embossed in the porcelain. Signed. It is hand painted and in great condition with no chips, cracks has a slight craze line.
