  • Hog Ring Pliers Hog Ringer Patent 1874

Great Expectations Antiques

Circa: 1870's
Condition: Good+
Manufacturer: unknown
This is a nice clean and rare hog ringer pliers, clearly marked with raised cast lettering "PAT. AUG. 11-74, and "TOP" on the top jaw. These pliers are 7" long and have 4 specific jaw features at least. This allows the user to hold the pliers in several different positions to get the ring in place securely. The pliers are in good shape overall, and cross hatch pattern on the handle grips, the pivot pin is in good working order, with a little wear, a little loose, no bad, some minor pitting noted, but jaws are in very good usable condition. A unique design, and a nice collectible farm tool overall! Very rare!
