Great Expectations Antiques

Circa: early 1900's
Condition: Good+
Manufacturer: James Bee Sheffield
This is a very nice, antique spoke shave with a 3" wide cutter. There is a hard to see maker's mark on one handle, reads "JAMES BEE SHEFFIELD". The blade is near flat, a very slight sweep radius noted. The blade is sharp and ready to use. It has a little bit of pitting on it, but not enough to effect the cutting edge sharpness. Parallel to the blade is a brass insert in good shape. The wood frame is 11.5" long overall, has a few tight wood grain seperations, but is very solid and in working order, the cutter prongs are held tightly in place. A nice usable antique spoke shave!
