Offering this super clean heavy duty .11" inch wide socket mortise chisel marked 'JAMES .....". Although the stamp is not complete, there is enough of the stamp there to compare with other James Swan chisel I have to confirm that this is a Swan chisel. The stamp is not worn off, it was a light stamp at the factory. In fact this chisel has very little wear. This is a fine example of a well respected tool makers' product. It measures 10.8 inches long overall and 7 inches long on the steel only. The cutting edge is sharp ready to work. The hardwood handle is nearly like new with a good leather cap ring on the end. We do note a few dings on the outside socket, otherwise in very good condition, no rust, no damage.
