This is a very nice 8 inch swing brace with beautiful rosewood handles! It is marked THE JOHN S. FRAY CO. NO. 86 BRIDGEPORT CONN. U.S.A. on the steel. It retains about 50% of the original nickel plating, some staining and very small areas of minor pitting noted. The chuck work very smoothly, one of the nicest early designs! The ratchet works as it should. The jaws are in great shape also. The rosewood has very little wear, one of the nicest I've seen, in wonderful shape overall! A favorite brace with many chair, and other furniture makers!
