This footed low decorative dish has a squawking duck as its main design. The duck is standing on a small patch of ground next to the water - a dragonfly hovers over the water to the duck's right. A large stylized water lilly flows up from the swirled edges of the piece. Free form in shape, this tray measures 10" long by 5 3/4" (at its widest), and sits up on 4 molded ball feet. This is impressed Kayserzinn 4019. Made of high gloss pewter - this has an unusual and whimsical motif.
This German company was established in 1885, as J. P. Kayser & Sohn, and made wonderful Art Nouveau pewter wares - this dates around c. 1910. It is in generally nice condition. There is wear to the surface, and minimal amounts of shallow pitting of the metal.
