Antique Majolica Rose and Rope Platter. Heavy-duty plate with cobalt center; known as the Rose and Rope pattern shown in M. Katz-Marks book on Majolica. This platter is in good overall antique display condition; some very tiny flaws as can be expected. It is 11 x 10.25 inches and has initial 'A' on backside. Now for the flaws; one teensy fleabite on backside near rim edge; and some teensy rough spots on frontside; spots on the raised areas where the glaze didn't quite cover, and one white line in the clay in the cobalt area, (there is glaze over this however); nothing really distracting or diminishing.
