Anticus Antiques

Circa: Circa 1820s
Condition: Used
Country of Origin: GB
Manufacturer: Herve?
George IV period framed miniature of a woman with voile and frilled pelerine and blue silk dress. Beautifully detailed full-face portrait. Black wooden frame with brass roses mount to hanging ring. The rear of the picture has the old brown paper backing still intact. Whole item framed measures 14.5 cm by 12.25 cm (5.3/4 inches by 4.3/4 inches). The actual portrait oval is 9 cm by 7.5 cm (3.1/2 inches by 3 inches). Condition: The black wood of the frame has some very minor dotting to the finish, probably insect dirt. Also all-over even stippled effect. Braided decoration to the surround of the portrait. The rear has a few signs of insect damage to the brown paper backing. Inside the glass is a little hazy, but the painting appears to be in excellent condition. Possibly by Herve. This is the companion to the gentleman's miniature we have also in this category (our stock number C12247).
