Vintage Native American sewing basket with notions. This is an OLD basket; stamped Made in Canada. I am fairly confident it was handmade on Walpole Island by Rosie Ermatinger or one of her trainees. She was a lovely old soul when I met her back in the early 1980's and she had been making baskets like this for many, many years. She was in her 80's at that time. The reason I think it is one of her baskets is because it appears to have had dyed fibers on it originally which are not mostly faded out and many of Rosie's baskets had dyed fibers. The basket is in good condition for its age; it is 9 wide x 4 tall. Age estimate: 1920's-30's. A nice old basket for your collection. 1/19
