This is very nice folding timber scribe, or race knife type scribe for marking timber. It is marked "NEW YORK KNIFE CO. WALDEN HAMMER BRAND" on the single 2.5" long blade. It appears that about .2" of the knife has been sharpened away over the years, but is sharp and in good condition overall. The wood handles appear to be cocobolo or rosewood, with the two owner's intials very lightly scribed on one side of the wood handle. The wood is otherwise very nice not cracked, with some minor scratches and edge dings. The steel is clean, not rusty, with some darkening on the finish, and some minor pitting on the areas away from the cutting edge. Overall in good+ condition. A hard to find old knife, by a quality maker!
