Avis Yuni Antiques & Collectibles

Manufacturer: Fiesta Pottery
This is a cobalt plate, dessert size, which is a piece of the original Fiesta pottery or Fiestaware from the printed mark on the backside. States "Genuine, fiesta, H L Co, USA". The "H L Co" stands for Homer Laughlin China Company. The word "Genuine" was added to the mark in the 1940s and helps to date this mark during the 1940's to 1972 period (we don't know when this piece was made within that, but it is not one of the new pieces).

This Fiesta dish has a hole in the middle as would be found with a piece used for a multi-layer tier or tidbit, cookie or party serving piece, so we believe it was originally a piece from one of those sets. Round plate with 3 ridges measuring 7 5/16 inches in diameter, sitting about 3/4 inch in height. We are not experts in Fiestaware, and didn't see this piece listed in our book.

Excellent overall condition, no chips, cracks, or crazing. You can see the white of the pottery via the 'hole' in the middle, and on the underside there are several unglazed white spots from manufacture (please note that most of the 'white' or 'hot spots' seen in the images below are reflections from the camera lighting). There are a few small scratches on the topside of the plate (nothing bad), with several more on the underside, as well as expected other underside wear (rubbed spots, wear on rim on which piece sits).

A very nice piece waiting for it's center handle or inclusion in a multi-layered serving piece.

We have listed many other items for sale. If you wish to buy more than one, please email us prior to inputting the order so we can provide you with a combined shipping discount, if possible. The system will not automatically provide that to you, but we would be pleased to compute the postage savings due to shipment together in one box.
