Condition: Good+
Manufacturer: PECK, STOW & WILCOX Southington CT U.S.A.
This is a nice clean older 10" swing, ratchet auger bit brace marked "SAMSON PEXTO MADE IN USA 8010" on the swing arms and "SAMSON PEXTO MADE IN USA PATENTED" on the chuck sleeve. Both PEXTO and SAMSON are trade names for PECK, STOW AND WILCOX CO. This brace is in very good working condition with the rosewood handles in very nice shape, a few dings and scratches, but look nice. There is some wear on the finish, some light pitting in a few areas, darkening of bare steel, but no rust, no damage or repairs. The is only minor wear on the chuck sleeve knurled area, threads are in great shape, movement is very smooth. The chuck jaws and jaw spring have been tested, and are in good working order. The chuck is designed to hold wood auger bits with the tapered square ends.
