Cool historical glass! Oval milk glass covered dish made to commemorate the Spanish American War of 1898. Attributed to the Eagle Glass Co., Wellsburg, West Virginia. The dish top shows an eagle sitting on the nest, wings outstretched, protecting three eggs. They are embossed "Porto Rica" (sic), "Cuba" and "Phillipines". The base is an embossed nest, with an "The American Hen" banner on both sides. Measures 3 3/8 inches wide by 6 1/8 inches long by 4 inches high. Excellent condition.
