Matte white jardiniere or vase. It has a pale green glazed interior. The white is an old vintage white color; not a true bright white color; so if you need it to be more contemporary, spray it with satin white by Rustoleum, which is what I do with vintage planters I use in my home. No chips or cracks. There is a maker's mark on the bottom but it is too far under the glaze to recognize it. Someone e-mailed to say it is a Red Wing #445 which is what I thought it was but it is not in my book; so it must be in another book. It is 7 tall x 9 wide at top rim. The sun was out when pics were shot, so there are shadows on the images. It's the perfect size for ferns, orchids, etc. gscs5/09
