Circa: late 1800s to early 1900s
Condition: Used
Manufacturer: Unknown
Sapphire and diamond-mounted bracelet with a row of 7 graduated round old mine-cut diamonds and 6 round sapphires in claw settings on an articulated link bracelet. The diamonds are estimated to total 1.50 carats, with quality assessed as Good to Fair old make, D-H colour and SI2-I3 clarity. The sapphires are cushion and round mixed cut, estimated to total 1.40 carats, of good quality, medium slightly greyish blue colour, very true royal blue - a lovely colour. The mount is handmade in 9ct gold and silver. Tongue clasp and safety clips. Bracelet is curved, but total length would be approx. 170 mm. It is 5 mm wide at the centre of the stones. The linked area is 2.5 mm wide. It is important on a bracelet of this style that you do not squeeze the curved section, as this can cause stones to pop out.
We have a valuation for this lovely bracelet, which gives a secondhand retail market value of NZ$3500.00 and a new comparison value of NZ$5800.00.
(Valuations are supplied to the purchaser).
