Copperton Lane Antiques & Collectibles

Circa: 1948
Country of Origin: US
Manufacturer: Thomas Mfg Co
This "Shooting The Rapids" dimestore toy was made by Thomas Manufacturing Company of Newark New Jersey in the 1940s, possibly early 1950s. Three plastic canoes with Native American Indian figures inside are attached to the original color litho printed card. The rubber bands are old and brittle but so far they still hold. The red, green, and yellow canoes are 3-1/2 inches long. The card is about 5 by 7-1/2 inches. The edges of the card have some minor age and handling wear, and there is a 3/4 inch black marker line that may be covering a price or someone's name. These old toys make fun gifts or stocking stuffers for baby boomer relatives and friends.
