Johnny Gruelle's Hardcover Book, Raggedy Ann Betsy Bonnet String, Written and Illustrated by Johnny Gruelle, copyrighted and printed in 1943. Johnny Gruelle Company is the publisher of this First Edition book. This book is complete with its original color and black-and-white drawings. It has all of its 96 pages, its cover, all black and white and color pictures. It is in fair condition. The top cover and pages of the book have spots from water damage, but still has story, pictures, and easily turning pages. This book is rarer than most Raggedy Ann books, but pricing reflects this book's flaws. The book is still readable and complete. The dolls and toys come to life whenever Marcella and her family are away or asleep, and sometimes they go to the Deep Woods or other outside locations. This first edition book was copyrighted in 1969 by the Bobbs-Merrill Co., Inc. and printed by Golden Press of Western Publishing Company. It contains 24 pages. The doll and toy characters are the same ones that Johnny Gruelle created in his Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy stories. It contains many charming illustrations. It was written for a very young child or new reader. The book has interest for a collector. This pre-owned book is in very good condition. Its only flaw is some scrapes on the back of the cover. Its cover is in excellent condition, except for a very small wrinkle. This is a Golden 'Look-Look' book. Its story tells about Raggedy Ann's adventures when she attended the Carnival with Marcella where she got lost. The doll and toy characters in this book are based on the characters that Johnny Gruelle created. Pre-owned, excellent condition, and no unpleasant odors. The hardcover book, Raggedy Andy's Stories, was written and was illustrated by Johnny Gruelle. This book is complete with its original color and black-and-white drawings. It contains 95 pages. It contains stories about Raggedy Andy, Raggedy Ann, Marcella, Marcella's father, and the other dolls and toys in the nursery. The dolls and toys come to life whenever Marcella and her family are away or asleep. This classic is in very good condition except for a spot on its cover which was once covered with a price tag. This reprint was published before books had ISBN numbers. The book is based upon the same characters as the dolls that Robert Tonner designed. This book's story is about the adventures of the 4 Magic Attic Club friends at camp: Alison, Heather, Keisha, Megan, and Rose (first version when she was of Cheyenne Indian descent).
