This is a very good used vintage extension lip spur auger bit with the tapered end to fit the vintage style hand brace chucks. The one was made by and marked "SNELL MFG. CO. FISKDALE MASS. MADE IN U.S.A. 22/16" on the shank. Actually measures 1.377" diameter x 9.6" long overall. This is a rather hard to find size as it is larger (1.38" diameter), and not included in the well known 13 bit sets. This one is in very good condition, sharp, a few minor dings and wear on the tapered end that will bit into your brace. Nice and clean, some minor metal darkening spots in places, not rusty. The lead screw is also in very good condition. A very well known quality tool maker, and a nice example of their product!
