Descriptive text on reverse: In the National Cemetery near the spot where Lincoln made his immortal speech of dedication, stands the nation's tribute to her sons who gave their lives as the price of victory on the field of Gettysburg. This monument is sixty feet high, the base a massive pedestal with four allegorical figures representing War, History, Peace and Plenty, and surmounted by a colossal statue of marble representing the Genius of Victory. C.D.S., Gettysburg, Pa., Aug. 22, 1928, with 1 cent George Washington postage stamp.
