Great Expectations Antiques

Circa: 1920's
Condition: Good++
Manufacturer: STANLEY TOOLS
This is a nice clean Stanley No. 50 Everlasting butt chisel in good+ condition overall. It is marked "STANLEY" in pressed lettering on the bottom edge, and "MADE IN U.S.A. PAT. 1483176" on the outside of the socket. This is considered to be about the best chisel ever made by many collectors, as it has a very solid construction, including a rounded steel cap at the end that is attached inside the wood handle to the rest of the steel section of the chisel. This one is about 6.9" long, where the original was 8-9" long overall, so you have about 1.0" of sharpening stock left before you would reach the STANLEY stamp. No rust or damage such a pitting, sharp, ready to use. The wood on this one has some light wear, a few stains and minor dings, but very solid. The end cap has some dings on it. Overall a very nice, clean, sharp butt chisel! A favorite among many users since 1911 when they were first offered by Stanley. Quality!
