This is a nice clean, 6" lock-joint caliper marked "The L.S. STARRETT CO. ATHOL MASS. U.S.A.". It's in very good working condition. Appearance is good with no rust or pitting, some minor discoloration. This is the top of the line inside caliper with the fine adjustment and transfer adjustment. The transfer adjustment allows the user to set the size desired with the locking thumbscrew in the center pivot, then move one leg of the caliper without change to the original set dimension of the caliper, generally used during machining applications. A good investment, since these are so hard to find!
