Printing a Pattern

There are two ways to print from this website:

1. you can download a copy of the pattern in Adobe PDF format to your computer and then print it, or

2. you can print this page directly from your browser.

In the second case, you will not end up storing the pattern on your computer, in the first case, you will.   We recommend the former, particularly if you are an AOL customer or a Netscape user, as the AOL browser and Netscape browsers have some known problems with printing (these do not occur in the MS Explorer or the Opera browsers).   Most computers come with the reader software already installed that  allows you to read PDF files.  If you do not have the reader, you can click the icon at the bottom of this page to get a free copy from Adobe, the creator of the software.  It is available in versions for the Mac as well as for all Windows operating systems.

To download a file and print it:

1. Click on the icon labeled 'click here to download this pattern' at the bottom of the page.  The adobe software will automatically load on your computer and your pattern will be transferred from our host computer to yours.

2. To save a copy for later printing, click the icon with the picture of the diskette.  You will see a popup menu where you can choose where to store the file and to give it a name.  You can call it anything you like, as long as the file extension is .pdf.   Note that some characters (&/:; among them) are not legal in file names; when naming your file, it is best to pick a name that has only alphabetic and numeric characters, spaces (PC only, not Mac), underscores or dashes.  

3. To print a copy, click the icon on the document that has the picture of the printer.
