Great Expectations Antiques

Circa: mid-1900's
Condition: Good++
Manufacturer: not marked
This is a nice clean used vintage vernier caliper with inch scales (in16ths inch on the bottom scale, 32nds on the top scale. It is marked "WEST GERMANY", very clear to read markings. It can also be used for a depth gauge.  Also features the release and lock thumb screw on the caliper slide, that locks very tightly.  There is no pitting, no rust, no wear noted. The sliding jaw is still quite snug, and moves smoothly when thumb wheel is used to move the slide into desired position. A nicely made caliper appears to be mostly presion stamped parts with machined hardware.  It was made shortly after the end of WWII.
