Oft time’s dead loved ones images were created with eyes open, yet in a coffin or casket. The final image otherwise to painful to view. Some Victorian death remembrance photographers for example would scratch out the eyes of a post mortem photo and replace with life like drawn in ones. Mourning is never easy or over.
