Nice weighty (over 7 oz) vintage brass compact with compartments for all your needs. Classic art deco interior has space for a few cigarettes (short, non-filter type), or perhaps a few folded up dollars, a pat of rouge, face powder* , tiny vial of perfume, and perhaps a few coins in the center spot. Nice beveled mirror set into the lid which is marked "MADE IN GERMANY" which dates it to pre-WWII. All lids are nicely hinged and close securely. Both the exterior top and bottom have been decorated with sprays of red roses. Compact measures 4 7/8" x 3 1/4 and is about 1/2" thick. *a bit of powder still left, plus original screen and puff which reads "FLAPJACK" PRODUCTION. Likely a pun on the term Pancake makeup.
