Vintage Christ of Prague Chalkware Statue circa 1940's. Also known as Christ of Prague and Child of Prague. Elaborate detailing of face. Beautiful. The face is highly emotive and realistic with gently painted features and deep incisive eyes. Carved to look as though wearing a long off white Robe while hand stitched layered foiled lace and velveteen robes give it a textural, three dimensional look. There is a bit of paint wear around the hair on head where crown rest. I will ship this item with the crown off. You can note there is a center wire that extends on Crown that inserts into center of Statute Top of Head to help balance and support Crown. The Crown is made of filigreed metal and boast a shimmering gold tone finish. Adorned with multi color glass and poly type rhinestones. The garments are simply pinned around the statue. The collar is not pinned allowing to stand up and surround neck and back of head. I will let new owner place to pins to hold upright. The dress slips through hands. One hand holds a blue orb to signify Regality while the other hand makes the sign of the Benediction by middle and index fingers are raised while ring and pinkie finger are pressed against the palm. The left Benediction hand/fingers is in excellent condition. The blue Orb has a few paint flicks. This wonderfully emotive, ethereal statue remains in excellent vintage condition overall. Measurements figurine is 14 3/4 inch tall with Crown 18 1/4 inch tall. It is signed on side of statue and has the paper label on bottom. A must have.
