Manufacturer: Monet Jewelry
Lovely sparking vintage Monet pin or brooch in the shape of a scallop shell in silver-tone metal (not sure what metal this is, it is not sterling silver) with blue and yellow rhinestones. What makes this particularly fun is that it came out of a home in its original paperboard box, attached to its original paperboard insert card. Given this, it is highly likely that this piece was never worn, and it does not show the usual signs of wear/use/storage wear, but we can't guarantee that. However, having the box presentation can make this particularly appealing for a gift.

The rhinestone shell pin measures about 1 1/2 inches in width x 1 1/8 inches in height. As you can see in the 8 images provided, we did take it off the insert card to fully inspect it. The pin does show the Monet manufacturer marking on the backside, as well as the Monet name on the insert card and on the box lid. On the backside of the insert card is a sticker indicating "Made in Thailand".

Please review the 8 images showing all the components from differing angles as well as close-ups of the pin and the Monet mark on its backside. We have shot some of the images both with and without camera lighting as the light created white "hot spots" on the highly reflective surfaces. Please use the zoom function to fully examine this pin and box.

While this older brooch looks terrific overall, there are a few things to note. With the pin, we can see some tiny dark dots on some of the silver-tone metal, particularly along the sides of the scallop shell (and you can see these in the closer images). We think this is some tarnishing on the metal due to the piece age which would likely shine off if carefully touched up with a Q-tip and some silver polish. We have not done so and are selling this as is/as found. When worn, these spots wouldn't be seen, but you could also think of this as making the shell a bit more realistic looking since most shells found in the ocean aren't perfect anyway. We see no breaks, chips or rhinestones missing. With the box, the lid has a touch of dirt/wear (nothing bad), but on the bottom you can see the paper tear where someone must have removed the original price label, as well as some dirt/wear.

We are listing many other pieces of jewelry. Should you be interested in more than one piece, please contact us prior to placing the order so that we can provide you with shipping cost savings by packing them in one package. The system will automatically provide shipping costs for each listing as if mailed separately. We would be pleased to calculate and provide the postage savings for you.
