Vintage The Gingerbread Man on Stove Cookie Jar Japan. Awesome Cookie Jar with The Gingerbread Man standing on the Wood Cook Stove next to the Tea Kettle. The side has an ash or coal bucket. The front of the stove is inscribed The Gingerbread Man.

Height 11 1/2 inches;
Length side to side across 7 inches;
Width Front to back 5 1/2 inches.

This jar is glazed and has the red cold paint over the glaze. Which, if you are not familiar with cold paint, I can share was a common process in making many vintage cookie jars. The only problem with the cold paint is it washes off easily, so best recommended to wash with a damp cloth and never use any cleaners or soaps on it. Many times you find these jars and there is no cold paint remaining.

The lid does not have any Chips, cracks or crazing from use damage. There is some cold paint wear and and some paint misses under the glaze and a paint miss and glaze drip area on the backside rim.

The bottom has a chip on the inside rim as seen and There is a crease on the rim on the left side near the front. Some may argue this is a crack. Also on the side of the jar there is a tiny piece of pottery from the mold that has a paint miss, but has glaze over it. It sticks out from jar like a little dimple. There is minimal crazing on the bottom and for what ever reason, I have never seen this style jar up for sale that did not have some crazing.

Displays so wonderfully and still functional to use.
