Manufacturer: Wedgwood China
Lovely harder to find Wedgwood Wild Strawberry piece out of a home. This is a large pot which can be used as a flower pot, plant pot, planter or a cachepot (flower pot holder). Round, standing about 4 5/8 inches in height with a top diameter of 5 1/4 inches and a smaller base diameter of about 3 3/4 inches (walls are straight-sided and cinch in slightly before the base). Weighs slightly over 19 ounces or 1.2 pounds unpacked.

Fine white bone china, this piece is porcelain as it is translucent. Clean white background color decorated with wild strawberry vines having pink & light orange yellow flowers, occasional red strawberries, and leaves in green and what we would call light brown (the vines are also this light brown color). The upper and lower edges are trimmed in gold.

Fully marked on underside base with black Wedgwood urn graphic and "Wedgwood, Bone China, Made in England" and the pattern name, "Wild Strawberry". There is also the number "72" which might indicate the year of manufacture, we're not sure (we know Wedgwood did indicate a 2 digit year in numbers on their pieces until at least 1950, we're not sure about after that).

We've provided 8 images to show from all sides and a close-up of the manufacturer markings. Please note that the camera lighting causes white "hot spot" reflections on the smooth glossy surface, so we've included one image without the camera light. Please use the zoom feature to examine closely.

Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or major flaws. This piece looks bright and clean so it may not have been used. There are a few small light surface scratches (likely from cleaning/handling), a tiny touch of wear to the gold trim (nothing to worry about, the gold is still 98%+ there), some pin/pit/raised dots in the porcelain as made, some stray dots of gold from the painting process, and perhaps other little wear dots but there is nothing to be concerned about here at all. The underside base rim on which this sits shows darkening consistent with age.

A terrific addition to any collection of Wedgwood china or a grouping of the Wild Strawberry pattern, or a collection related to fruit & strawberries. Would also add to the beauty of any plant placed in this pot.

Please note: We are listing two other pieces of this Wedgwood Wild Strawberry pattern, two small vases (please see our other listings). Should you be interested in more than one piece, we would be pleased to ship them together in one package to save you on postage. However, please contact us prior to entering the order as the system will not calculate the savings you should get from shipping more than one piece in the same box (it will calculate the shipping as if each is shipped separately). We would be glad to calculate that for you.
