Vintage, 11 piece, Blace and White, Dragonware Tea Set With The raised, 3 dimensional, Moriage Dragon. This set has the oriental dragon motif making a deep relief of the dragon or serpent that curls around the outside of the piece of pottery and up on the lids. The teapot,sugar bowl and creamer all have dragon head handles on the lids and dragon head spouts. Small dots of blue enamel were used for the eyes. The teapot is approximately 6 inches tall, including the lid. The cream and sugar pieces are 4 3/4 inches tall. The teacups are 1 1/2 inches tall and 2 1/8 inch diameter. The saucers, (SEE NOTE BELOW) are 3 3/4 inch diameter. All pieces are trimmed in gold and are in excellent condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. You will find some minor crazing on some of the pieces on the bottom only. Some slight gold wear on rims was also detected.
NOTE!!! an unfortunate accident happened and two of the saucers were shattered and one has a small break. So, only one saucer is intact. I kept the one with the small break and will include it in the set. It was a clean break and could be repaired. The price has been adjusted from $225 to $195 to reflect the change. |
