Vintage art pottery majolica style fish wallpocket. Magnificent, good size, extremely heavy old pottery; majolica or majolica style wallpocket featuring three fish with somewhat irridescent scales. This wallpocket has all over crazing which is not very noticeable because of the coloring on this piece. It looks like there is an inkstamp mark on back as well as an incised stamp mark but they are too worn for me to tell what it says or even if these are really markings or not. It is just too heavy and detailed to be a Japan item; likely Europeon or American made. No cracks, and just one fleaspeck off the rim of one of the fishes' top scales. You have to scour it to even find it. It is 10.5 long x 4.75 wide. It is a magnificent piece of art pottery. 8/04/ny-cs
