Great Expectations Antiques

Circa: early 1900's
Condition: Good++
Manufacturer: D.R. BARTON
This is a nice clean .32" wide long bent carving chisel marked "D. R. B....." on the steel near the ferrule. Although the complete D.R. BARTON mark can not be seen, we are confident that this is a Barton brand chisel. The chisel is basically 5/16" wide at the outside of the V-shape, very sharp and ready to use. A top quality carving chisel. In very good condition overall with no rust or damage, a good solid Rosewood handle with brass ferrule that fits tightly to the steel tang of the chisel. Overall length is 9.25", the steel only is 4.75". A very nice antique carving chisel! The reference No. 40 refers to the Addis London size chart that we used for comparison.
