2 Noritake Nippon Plates Regina
Regina Set of two plates made by Noritake. They have back stamps dating in tow different styles. The
green stamp proceeds the red with a slight overlap. Due to this and one being marked Nippon I
am dating them to 1921. According to other sites they date to 1918, however the marks don’t
seem to say that. At any rate both are in excellent condition. They measure just shy of 10" across.

Nippon Yoko Boeki Co. Vase
Featured for your enjoyment is another wonderful item from Minnesota’s Attic. This wonderful
old vase is made by the Nippon Yoko Boeki Company. It was sold by Woolworth stores. As
Woolworth’s started in 1878 and the mark is simply Japan I would date this to the early 1900’s,
say about the 20’s maybe. The vase has a deco shape a raise vertical pattern painted with grey
and blue. It is in excellent condition. Stands 8" tall by about 3 1/2" wide at the center.

Hat Pins and Holders:
Victorian Porcelain Bisque Hat Pin Holder unmarked
Victorian Porcelain Bisque Hat Pin Holder predates circa 1890 no stamp mark.
Best guess this is a lovely early Japanese item that the Japanese named Japan, Nippon, where the Nippon name originated from. Nippon is the Japanese name for Japan and was used on pieces exported to the United States from 1891 to 1921. It also is the name of an important Japanese ceramics factory, and the word still appears on porcelain marks. Most collectors ignored 20th century Japanese porcelains until the 1980s.
In 1890 Congress passed protectionist tariff legislation - the McKinley Tariff. This legislation, in addition to imposing heavy tarriffs on imports and provoking a major depression in the United States, also required that imported items be labeled with their country of origin. Prior to this many items were not marked.
This lovely item is hand painted with gold trim. Has a lovely floral pattern with raised designed around the rims. Unique design. The pictures do no show the cream with green tone luster color. Very lovely.
Height 4 inch. Base side to side across center 2 1/4 inch. Top side to side across center 1 1/2 inch.
No chips, no cracks no crazing. Gold trim excellent. Holds 13 hat pins.
