Great Expectations Antiques

Circa: 1920's-30's
Condition: Good++
Manufacturer: John S. Fray & Co. Bridgeport CT
Offering this clean antique auger bit brace marked "BRIDGEPORT CT NO. 0105" in a rather lightly stamp marking on the steel arms.  It features a uniquely mushroom shaped head handle and 3 position ratchet system, plus a 2 jaw chuck (an older vintage without spring loaded feature).  The steel is all rust free, some minor pitting here and there, very clean.  The wood is in great shape with a natural finish, no cracks, a few minor wood grain separations caused by the wood drying out at times over the years) a few very small dings and dents, look nice, turning smoothly.  Although the JOHN S FRAY & CO. mark can not be seen on this brace, I have had others with this same No. 0105 model with the Fray marking on them.  I don't think that Stanley continued this model when they bought out Fray & Co., but that is possible.
