Manufacturer: Pickard China
We hope this china plate proves lucky for whomever chooses to buy it...it's been hand painted & decorated by Pickard China with two terrific symbols of luck...four leaf clovers and wish bones (wishbones)!

A simple but elegant antique small plate, dessert plate size, with a white porcelain base (this plate is translucent) and a design near the outer edge in gold, black and two-tone green, incorporating six four leaf clovers and 9 wishbones with angular and circular lines. Marked on the backside with a gold leaf within which is the Pickard red circle insignia which states "Handpainted China, W A Pickard", with the nearby impressed numbers, 3102 and 19 (the number nineteen here is hard to read but we believe that is what it is). The red circle Pickard mark indicates that this piece was made between 1895 and 1898.

Vintage round plate sitting about 7/8 inch in height and measuring about 7 3/4 inches in diameter. We've provided six images showing the front and back of this old plate, and close-ups of the design elements and the marks. Please note that the white "hot spots" are reflections from the camera lighting on the high gloss surface.

Very nice overall condition with no chips, cracks or crazing, but it is not mint...it does show some age and wear. There are small light scratches in the white porcelain, seen only in bright light when held at an angle. There is wear to the outermost gold line trim...while very much most of the gold is still there, it has wear spots/lines where you can see the white porcelain, as well as other scratches, rubbed spots, general tiny spots & lines on the gold. The clover and wishbone designs are in very nice shape except for one wishbone between two clovers where there is a definite scratch going horizontally across the design/paint. There are pin, pit and a few dark dots in the porcelain and some expected wear to the underside base on which the piece sits (but not bad). Although this is there, none of it detracts from the plate when viewed on display, and we believe the piece has survived well for something that is at least 110 years old!

An attractive piece which would make a nice gift for anyone to whom you'd like to wish some luck. Could easily be hung on a wall or used for serving elegant cookies and small desserts, or hors d'oeuvres and appetizers.
