Copperton Lane Antiques & Collectibles

Circa: 1975
Country of Origin: US
Manufacturer: Mid Century American Production
This gorgeous and very large mixed metals Mid Century wall charger depicts the Fort Jackson commercial trading post in Jackson Wyoming against a backdrop of the Teton mountains. It was an estate auction purchase, so I don't know who made it or why. A safe bet would be that it was made for the owners of the business and it hung in the store.

The charger measures 27-1/2 inches diameter. The base metal is copper (some of the silver paint is worn through at the back, exposing the copper). The fort, lettering, and animals (deer and cougar I think) in the border are copper. I believe the silver colored metal is actually silver but I haven't tested it.

I couldn't find a signature or maker's mark. The charger has a hanger on the back and is very good vintage condition. In researching this piece, I found out that trading post is no longer in business. The basic building is still there but you wouldn't recognize it - it's now the home of the Gerry Spence's law firm. I'm certain this is a one of a kind piece. The charger weighs nearly 9 pounds before packing and boxing.
