Great Expectations Antiques

Circa: 1920's
Condition: Good+
Manufacturer: Frank Mossberg
This is a very nice clean ratchet wrench and socket set marked "FRANK MOSSBERG CO. ATTLEBORO MASS. U.S.A. NO. 350 PAT. NOV. 11. 1918" on the ratchet wrench. It's also marked "M MOSSBERG M" pressed into the top of the tool case, and there is also two partial paper labels that have the Mossberg name on them, on the top cover of the two piece tool case. All the pieces are from good to Good++ condition, very clean. I believe this set was made up for a specific automobile, and seems to have only sockets that would have been used on that car or truck, maybe tractor. There is also a slot head type right angle screwdriver that has the Mossberg logo on it. The ratchet wrench is 10" long overall with a 3/4" square drive. The case is made of a material I don't know the name of, it is like stiff leather, very Strong, and is riveted on the corners. The case is in very good shape and just barely holds the wrench and sockets that come with it. The case is bulged out in the center a bit, but over the years they all seem to take that shape. All in very good working condition, very collectible!
