Yesteryear Here

Circa: 1925-1931
Manufacturer: Noritake China Company, Nagoya, Japan
Measuring 7 1/2 inches long x 4 1/2 inches wide, this stunning and gorgeous Noritake low dish is from the 1925-1931 period and pure Art Deco. The Noritake company produced wares for export for the American market based on popular designs of the era.

The two blossoms are stylized and painted with bold black outlines and flat areas of color for their petals. They are NOT realistic. I like the fact that both blossoms have different color centers. What is also very avant garde for the time period is how the flowers are placed in the design. They are not completely shown as well as being asymmetrically placed. On one edge there is a red and white triangle design as well. Very Art Deco.

It is signed with the blue cherry blossom mark on the bottom. It is in excellent vintage condition.

Add this Japanese Noritake Art Deco masterpiece to your Art Deco collection today.
