More Than McCoy

Manufacturer: Robinson Ransbottom Pottery Co.
Two vintage Ransbottom stoneware jardinaires for one price is only $20/each! These jards feature the dragonfly pattern. They are heavy duty stoneware; one has incised mark: R.R.P. Co., Roseville, Ohio, No. 211. The other one is not marked and has an older looking bottom; it might be a Weller since RRP took over Weller in the 1940's and copied some of their designs. These are 7.25 tall x 7.5 wide. Both have gouges in the clay; typical on theses planters. The one that is unmarked has a pea size gouge or chip in the top rim; see magnified photo. It really looks more like a large bubble pop or gouge than a chip to me. These are very usable; indoors or out. I have some of my own that I use to grow Rosemary on the deck in the summertime. You can put the plant in a plastic pot with a saucer and stick in these pots. Or, you can put a nice orchid in them; faux or live. They are great American made pottery that will last a long, long time! You can also spray paint these any color you want. I sprayed some of my old dingy white pots with Rustoleum's 'satin white' paint to go with some of my more contemporary furnishings. 6/16
