Vintage Sheffield bakelite steak knife set. 8 matched items, plus one extra similar item; way below book value!. Beautiful marbled black/tan knife set that is shown in B. Mauzy's book on pg. 46. It is an almost complete set; just the large carving knife is missing but I have put in an almost identical knife, (it is a Sheffield bakelite knife, exact same design, but it has a solid black handle instead of the black and tan handle, see picture #6). The matched pieces include a knife sharpener, meat fork, and 6 steak knives. The knife sharpener has an incised mark on metal part: Forged Steel, Sheffield, England; the meat fork has an incised mark: Stainless Plate; and steak knives read: Warranted Cutlery Stainless Steel. Just the set of 6 steak knives alone are worth more than this price!
