War Department certificate dated March 31, 1919. It is a special document with the war department seal for service during the war between The United States of America and the empires of Germany and of Austria -Hungary. It was presented to Melville P. Maurice for the county of Lamoille Vermont and signed by the Provost Marshal and General and countersigned by the governor of Vermont. The governors signature is not readable as it has greatly faded. The document is framed but no glass and it is 11 1/2 inches high and 9 inches wide. A rare document to find and sold just as found.
