2831

No it is not your eyes, this little piece of Northwood is crooked, a small piece of errata bent while the glass was still warm. All the more interesting for it's flaw. Pretty little sherbet, custard cup or small compote. Whatever you call it, it is a lovely green with that amber irridesence on the inside. No chips, nicks etc.

1994

Very nice example of Northwood's Smooth
Rays in green, an unusual color for this pattern. The compote is in perfect condition, no nicks, etc, and is about 4" diameter and stands about 3 1/2" high

Click for more detail...

1684

Beautiful Floral cuts of several types in this Victorian Ruby Stained compote. Looks like morning glories and lily of the valley, among others.
Even the edges are delicately scalloped. Ruby stain was and is as popular as regular ruby glass, and was more affordable than the cut-to-clear pieces. This pretty compote would be so festive at Holiday time with candies or tiny cookies. While there are no cracks or chips in this piece, it does look like one edge may have been ground smooth, either that, or it was made slightly uneven. Even though it does not detract from the item, we have considered this in the pricing. The dish is about 7" in diameter and stands about 4 1/2" high.

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item 2641: LOETZ RUSTICANA SQUATTY VASE

Click for more detail...

2641

Great piece of Bohemian - Czechoslovakia art glass from Loetz. Their Rusticana line was inspired by the various Art Nouveau "tree bark" motifs at the turn of the century. Many of the pieces were designed by Christopher Dresser in the late 1890's. This squatty bowl with ruffled rim is in perfect condition. Bowl measures almost 6 1/2 inches in diameter at it's widest part, and is about 4 1/2 inches tall. Gorgeous reflections of purple, pink, gold and more make this a joy to own and display.

Click for more detail...

3002

Gorgeous pink two handled serving bowl with graceful scalloped edges and a floral etched design. I have been unable to find this pattern, which looks a bit like the Poppy floral depression pattern called Florentine. The bowl is 8 1/2" in diameter and has a ground bottom, definitely putting this piece squarely in the Elegant Glass category. I am quite sure the shape is Fostoria, but as mentioned above, the pattern is as yet unidentified. It is perfect in every way, no cracks, chips or nicks.

2280

Lovely set of 8 stems in 2 different sizes ....Cordial or sherry as well as wine. Both sizes are about 4 1/2 " tall, and the cordial is 2 3/4 diameter, the wine is 3 3/4. Etched with a simple leaf garland design that does not hide the delicate panels. Shapes resemble those in Fostoria's stemware line, but they could easily be Tiffin or Cambridge. Makes for a most elegant summer table. All pieces are perfect, no nicks, cracks or other apologies. Simply lovely!!! Priority Shipping determined by final weight and destination.

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item 2889: NORTHWOOD ~ COVERED BUTTER ~ CHEESE DISH

Click for more detail...

2889

Very nice covered butter dish with sunburst design on both the domed lid and on the base. Top fits snugly onto the base which has a pretty petal like edge with a thin sliver of yellow glass at the rim as you would put an edge on a doily or hanky. The base is the same as that used in the Northwood Glass Carnival Glass covered butter in the Cherry pattern, so although unmarked, it seems likely that it is also a Northwood piece. It is quite a heavy piece and measures 7 1/2 in diameter and 5 1/2 to top of lid. There is a tiny 1/8 scratch ( or possibly mold imperfection)on the lid which is the only detraction we can find.

Click for more detail...

135

Lovely old satin glass vase, probably English, with hand painted bird which appears to be a wren. The vase stands 5 1/8" high with a 2" diameter top. The picture of the rim is to show the wear to the gold trim, it is not chipped or nicked. We tried to find some artist's signature on the bird, but no luck. It is very well done. We generally ship to domestic customers by USPS Priority Mail, so buyer will add $ 3.95 plus applicable insurance.

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item 2575: OVERSHOT CENTERPIECE BOWL~ART NOUVEAU FINIALS

Click for more detail...

2575

Very interesting piece of Victorian Overshot glass in what has come to be known as the "grotesque" style because of all the lumps and bumps in the design. Probably a centerpiece bowl, or fruit server . The oval shaped piece measures 9 3/4 long x 7 1/2 wide x 5 1/4 high. Graceful Art Nouveau style maidens, which remind one of mastheads, form the handles and the rim has the appearance of lace edging. The rim is marked Rogers Bros Triple Plate and bears a mark, a facsimile of which is pictured. Overshot glass was made primarily in New England from mid to late 19th century, although we cannot be sure exactly where our piece was done. The bowl alone weighs almost 4 lbs., and with double boxing, priority mail will be determined by final shipping weight and buyers location, plus $6.00, of course.

Not only is this reamer embossed with the SUNKIST name, it is also embossed with the original patent # 68764 and MADE IN USA.There are no chips or cracks in this reamer, but the "head" is rather rough...must have worked on some pretty tough oranges in it's time. Our price reflects this condition.

Click here to enlarge image and see more about item 2940: OVERSHOT~CHIPPED ICE~BLUE & WHITE COMPOTE

Click for more detail...

2940

This lovely art glass compote has characteristics of both overshot and chipped ice styles, yet cannot rightfully be called either one. It is blown glass with a rough pontil. The ruffled edge that starts out royal blue and fades to a white ice also starts out as smooth glass and ends up with a texture similar to overshot, but smoother to the touch. The compote is only 2 1/2" tall with a Diameter of 5 1/4" standing on a foot 2 1/2" wide. The only detraction is a burst bubble on the inside of the bowl. There are no chips or cracks. We generally ship to domestic customers by USPS Priority Mail, so buyer will add $ 3.95 plus applicable insurance.

As it is not marked, we cannot tell you if it is vintage Westmoreland or Imperial slag. Beautifully marbled and in perfect condition except for normal age wear on the base.
